"Centerville, Big Brother. Although it would be inaccurate to say that it is actually in the true center of Shinto, much less Fuyuki."<BR><BR>

Leo had been mildly amused to hear his brother ask a question, since the man highly valued intelligence. More often than not, Leo was used to his older brother knowing things right away thanks to the Harwey family's plethora of resources and contacts. Julius was a stoic man with a personal fondness for reconnaissance and an elite team of special operations soldiers as capable of digging up data as any governmental counterintelligence agency. It wasn't like his brother had an affinity for research or some such thing - rather, as a highly trained assassin, it was imperative for Julius to be capable of quickly gathering data on an "as needed" basis. It was simply coincidence that the Harwey Plutocracy's access to information was unrivaled as an organization.<BR><BR>

On an individual level, Julius' talents laid in darker corners than collecting intelligence - and if anything, the question Julius had asked was a sign of trust and kinship. That the normally quiet man who performed his duties with mechanical efficiency was human enough to not only experience uncertainty, but to express curiosity to the one person he absolutely trusted touched Leo as both a brother and a king. After all, so many would not trust him at first - King Arthur had Merlin or Bedivere, Gilgamesh had Enkidu, and history contained several more examples. Every king needed people he could trust above all others, who would never betray him. This two-fold, mutual understanding of trust and faith between the brothers Harwey was a symbol of just how stable their family and relationship both were.<BR><BR>

"But, I suppose because it is very near the center of Shinto, and is the tallest building in the entire city, it's name is appropriate enough."<BR><BR>

Leo paused for a moment, watching as the elevator door opened on the top floor of Centerville's interior. Even as twin metal doors slid apart from one another's embrace, Leo allowed the two extra men accompanying the siblings to exit the elevator first. Even to those who had been in his family's service for as long as he could remember, he was kind and well-mannered. The way he saw it, as a king, he could afford to be generous - and that was especially true on this day. The two men pushed the large, flatbed dolly with the wooden plank box secured by orange safety belts and bronze buckles atop its bulk.<BR><BR>

On this night, the scion of the Harwey family would call forth a Heroic Spirit.<BR><BR>

The two men - Pedro and Garçon - helped guide the dolly and it's payload towards a special cargo elevator. Leo made no move to follow them right away, instead opting to move the opposite way. He wanted to give the two butlers time to set up everything: the array, the artifacts, and such trivial things. When they were done, Garçon would doubtlessly call Leo on his cell phone or office phone to let him know. So, to kill some time, Leo casually strode down the a hallway towards the Corporate Executive Officer's Presidential Suite office.<BR><BR>

To make sure the over protective Julius was not tempted to accompany the two men to the rooftop, Leo spoke to his older brother.<BR><BR>

"Julius - as you know, I have used our family's resources to acquire a number of artifacts. These items are guaranteed to conjure among the strongest of the Heroic Spirits. I spared no expense in this effort, though we've already recovered our losses and then some.*<BR><BR>

As if realizing his inner executive was threatening to give Julius a lecture about finances and investment, he caught himself and allowed his mouth to speak from his king's heart instead.<BR><BR>

"To get to the point, brother, I plan to summon the perfect knight - a suitable Servant for one such as myself. But you have not mentioned what sort of Servant you wish to call forth."<BR><BR>

As they arrived at his office, Leo opened the door and gestured for Julius to enter.<BR><BR>

"On that note, do you wish to use one of the recovered artifacts, brother? It is quite alright if you do, I had a few successfully sent over, so it wouldn't be a problem."

At one time, the pristine castle within the forest was but a rumored landmark to the citizens of Fuyuki City. No one who ventured within the forest's confines ever confirmed the old structure's existence; those who tried to do so either came back babbling nonsense or suffering memory loss - or never came back at all. And as a result of certain events during the Fifth Heaven's Feel, the castle itself was reduced to a smoldering pile of burnt ash, twisted metal, and cold snow. The Einzbern Castle faded even further into memory, and in the case of most of Shinto it did not exist even there. The Castle had followed suit the ambition and prestige of the Einzbern family - stalwart in its structure, but relatively ephemeral in its very existence. That should have been the end - Old Man Acht had forsaken this castle, and had no claim in this Holy Grail War unless he himself decided to enter the fray. The castle should have been left alone, to lay broken and burnt upon the snow white ground.<BR><BR>

But in the world of magi, even the dead cannot know peace from the evil of ambition.<BR><BR>

"There is a saying in the world of men, Brother." Declared a strong, young voice full of regal pride and royal entitlement. It was a calm voice, even and sure of itself. "It goes: 'When one door closes, another one opens'. I've always liked that saying, even if I never said so. Mother used to say it to father when he was frustrated or depressed. Do you remember her voice, my brother?"<BR><BR>

It was a rhetorical question, and yet - at the same time - it was not. Leo would listen to his brother's answer, but Julius would doubtlessly understand the boy had more yet to say. The older brother would know asking a question of his own would derail his king's line of thought, and so would not dare to do so. Leo heard - and Leo listened; he drank in his brother's words, knowing Julius would have something kind or reflective to say about their shared mother. Of course, there were some things Julius knew about the woman Leo did not...<BR><BR>

And never would, should the older brother have his way.<BR><BR>

"Brother, the door has closed upon the Einzbern family's vision and power. But while families like the Bartholomeloi, the Tohsaka, and the Makiri engaged in petty squabbles over who deserved what... We the rightful rulers of this world and the only ones who can shoulder the burden of absolute authority, have moved in secret. Obfuscated by a veil of shadow woven by our own hands, we have sewn and sewn and sewn some more - at least since 1100 A.D. or so, you remember."<BR><BR>

It was not a question. Julius had always received the same teachings as Leo, even if he could never have what the younger brother was given or naturally possessed. Julius was not the heir, despite being this generation's first-born son. Yet, the Harwey was not like most Magus families. When they had a non-heir, they still groomed that individual for success. From the ground up, the family would create an ouroboros of wealth, power, and success by taking care of its own and absorbing other, weaker families left behind by time. Yet, the Harwey family remained pure through this genetic diversity - rather than engaging in acts of incest to keep the family "pure". The head of the Harwey family had once put it best, and to this day the Harwey family followed his edict.<BR><BR>

"The others have it wrong. We must not close ourselves off to greatness by merely isolating our knowledge and blood. Shoulder the burdens of the others, and bring them into the fold. To rule, one must serve - for what is a king but the singular man who serves his people? Dwell within the shadows, keep our name secret and low. Spread the roots of our blood and estate and legacy, my children. Just as there are five of you, there are five known elements embraced by the magi. Fight not amongst yourselves, but flourish through cooperation and mutual ambition. Save this world from the End Notes I have recorded and foreseen. Per diversitatem, potestate."<BR><BR>

"Through diversity, power."<BR><BR>

Those words would come to represent the Harwey methodology of obtaining and securing power, rooting out traitors, and staying hidden until the time was right.<BR><BR>

Leo continued, staring up at the newly built castle before him - on the outside, it looked just like the old Einzbern Castle. But within was a greatness even the Old Magus of the North could not have obtained without the Holy Grail.<BR><BR>

"The dreams of the Einzbern family turned to ash in the air and was covered by snow, brother. Yet, we shall assimilate their loss into our victory. This castle shall serve as our true base of operations within this battle."<BR><BR>

Leo always called it a battle. Never a war. To him, the war was yet to come - and this petty squabble over a wish-granting chalice was a means to an end.<BR><BR>

Even if he failed at some point, he was naturally destined to succeed.<BR><BR>

There was no other possibility.<BR><BR>

"You did well, Julius." Leo decided, aloud.<BR><BR>

"You are one element that made this move possible. Through our own covert networks and resources, we have made it on time. When you gave me that report just over a year ago, I wasn't exactly confidant about your chances to rebuild this place with absolute discretion. But you took it a step farther... A Harwey through and through, big brother."<BR><BR>

Julius - or more precisely, an array of variables initially set into place and supervised by Julius and other high-ranking members of the Harwey Plutocracy - had worked like clockwork to arrange the dominoes properly. As a result, the Einzbern Castle had not only been modified and re-engineered to perfection, but all renovations had been successfully made in secret. Leo would sooner have abandoned the modest investment (modest, at least, relative to the sum of the family's resources) than been discovered early. He had even feared for a brief moment that the supervisor of the land might notice something before preparations were complete. That fear had proved to be nothing more than the flicker of doubt even the king faced not of his own abilities, but regarding the capabilities of his brother.<BR><BR>

"I really must thank you, Julius." Leo said, taking a step forward towards his castle - knowing the inside would look much different than the exterior.<BR><BR>

"In just over a year, you created what could rightfully be called the capital of the Harwey Plutocracy's Japanese campaign. Rejoice, big brother - and rest. We have work to do, and I plan to secure the final piece in this board game tonight."<BR><BR>

The Enchanted Forest was under new management - one worker had jokingly called it the "Re-enchanted forest" - and the Harwey Castle was the epicenter of this covered-up affair. Several boundary fields, enchantments, and technological upgrades had been made to both the forest and especially the castle itself. The watchful eye of Rin Tohsaka had been fooled while it gazed across the land, and soon this former headquarters to the Einzbern Homunculus would allow Leo the location and resources he would need to ensure this world's salvation. The boy's smile was as warm as the sun, and would have melted the crystalline snow - but the winters in Fuyuki were long, and the nights dark - ad full of terrors.<BR><BR>

In the forefront of the king's mind was the sun that would shine brightest in the darkness - the perfect knight for the perfect king.<BR><BR>

And then the war could begin in earnest for the Harwey Plutocracy.

Servant: Ser Gawain

Appearance

Eye Color: Green
Hair Color: Gold
Height: 167.64 Centimeters
Weight: 61.24 Kilograms
Picture:

Appearance Description: Leo Harwey is the one born to be king of the world, and so it is no wonder he looks the part as well.

The very air around Leo seems to be weighed down by his presence, saturated with his dignified air that only a royal could have as their own. Even without meaning to, he is easily able to enthrall and enchant others with his truly regal bearing. This is especially evident when he is speaking to others, though whether or not he is aware of his almost inhuman charisma is uncertain.

At five-feet, six-inches tall (and growing), Leo appears more like an affluent prince than a tyrannical king, and his regal looks alone help others appreciate his kingly grace and potential. He has no excess fat or muscle, yet maintains a lithe and elegant composure even with his slender frame. Through fencing and basic athletics, he has conditioned himself to be very much "in-shape", though he has not dedicated an abundance of time to making himself an Olympian. He merely believes the king must be an image - am exemplar of all things, for his people, so he has trained his body as much as his mind to maintain discipline and potential. His face is unadulterated in its complexion, unmarred by even the subtlest occurrence of acne.

Leo's emerald eyes seem to look out upon the world not with condescension, but with royal pride - rather than contemptuous gazing at others who are below his station, he kindly sees the all people in the world as his subjects, and this is evident in his "smiling eyes" which seem to reflect light in the way a calm lake may return the gaze of stars high above the world. His smile can lend others strength by itself, and is as warm and gentle as the sunrise. If his eyes are emeralds, then his hair is spun gold which is kept perfectly groomed and clean. His hair reaches down to just above his neck and shoulders and is kept straight, save for the subtle part of his bangs that sweep across his forehead.

In regards to fashion - suitable for a king, Leo almost always dressed at least somewhat formally. More often than not, his ensemble is a school uniform that he had custom-made and tailored to his person. The outermost layer consists of a crimson uniform jacket and matching slacks, which are in turn tucked into a pair of pristine polished, white, steel-toed boots. The jacket itself is the most decorated between these three articles of clothing; it is mostly a bright red that is reminiscent of roses or blood, yet it is decorated with maroon-painted brass buttons and a family crest on the chest pocket. He also wears black gloves with thin, white lines across the back of each finger save for his thumbs. A thin, white string-ribbon is tied about his neck into a bow knot, and two folds of a neatly folded, silk handkerchief peek out from his chest pocket.

An alternate version of this uniform features an all-black long-sleeved top and matching slacks. In this version of the outfit, the buttons are visibly gold-plated brass and no longer painted the dark shade of red as with his other top. The Harwey family crest is now red as well, seen into the very stitching of Leo's chest pocket. The colors of his gloves have been inverted - they are black with white lines, so as to still match the uniform top and bottom.

Attributes

Elemental Affinity: ~ Average One :: A talent that even few Harweys possess, this is one's natural ability to manipulate all five of the natural elements. As a result of this ability, Leo has been deemed capable of reaching the "pinnacle" of his potential if he continues to grow and develop like he has for sixteen years.

Combined with his Sorcery Trait, this ability helps to rationalize the sheer amount of thaumaturgy he is capable of - ranging from base spells to greater rituals and a mastery of numerous schools of thought and magical theory. In the case of Greater Rituals, obviously "Laws of Practice" almost always apply, meaning he is not likely able to carry out one by himself by any means.

Sorcery Trait: ~ King's Birthright :: This is the Sorcery Trait of the Harwey Family, and is passed down to only one heir each generation. However, siblings are given special seals which act as miniature crests that "collect" knowledge even from non-heirs. The "Master Crest" which is only placed on the actual heir to the Harwey Family functions as a normal family crest, but stores both the knowledge of the heir and the non-heirs. Through the Sorcery Trait, the Harwey heir is able to instantly and effortlessly know, recall, and understand any and all knowledge ever taken in by a Harwey clan member.

In short, the main crest acts as a one-way receiver and a storage container, but instantly dumps the knowledge into the heir - so this knowledge can not be copied or stolen artificially even through magical surgery. In addition to granting the current heir all knowledge and skills of the Harwey family members, it allows the heir to infinitely store any information they learn in their own lives.

This Sorcery Trait is almost certainly one major factor in the family's success at both magecraft and function within the mundane world. This ability is the capacity for infinite storage of learned knowledge, and contains all knowledge that the Harwey Family has ever acquired. Between numerous generations of continued learning and development, this Sorcery Trait doesn't allow for any inherent boost in ability, but for a Harwey magus to automatically learn and infinitely store knowledge known by their ancestors, and the capacity for infinite storage/recall of memory in their life - the true path to kingship, the one that Leo walks, is paved with the knowledge, blood, sweat, and tears of his family; it is their burden to govern this world.

Combined with his status as an Average One, this ability helps to rationalize the sheer amount of thaumaturgy he is capable of - ranging from base spells to greater rituals and a mastery of numerous schools of thought and magical theory. In the case of Greater Rituals, obviously "Laws of Practice" almost always apply, meaning he is not likely able to carry out one by himself by any means.

Magic Circuit Count: ~ Magic Circuits :: Leo possesses 42 inborn Magic Circuits and 75 in the Harwey Crest. In short, he has both the number and quality of Magic Circuits only a "prodigy" could possess. He can output about 900 units of prana, and his crest can output approximately 1500. This makes his maximum output around 2500 units.

Abilities: ~ Mystic Eyes of Contract :: If one makes an accord with Leo, and agrees to any form of contract (even verbal agreement or consent), then a powerful geas worthy of the Harwey name is placed on them. It is practically impossible to break an contract with Leo. A series of burdens such as increased weight, sickness, nausea, and mental strain and depression will be placed on those who are able to break such an agreement.

Skills: Due to the Sorcery Trait of the Harwey Family, this section will not be filled.

Tools: Due to the innumerable resources of the Harwey Plutocracy, this section will not be filled.

Spells: Due to the nature of his Sorcery Trait, this section will not be filled.

Personal

Personality: Leo's personality is as much suited to the future king of the world as his looks are. From the moment of his birth, he was raised to believe in his eventual success and victory. His status as the one who could unite the world - both the magical world and modernity - was planted and nourished throughout his childhood. In short, he is not just capable of becoming the new world's ruler, but has been brought up and raised to fill such a position.

To Leonardo Bistrado Harwey, the outcome of his life is already determined. Success and ultimately victory are as natural to him as breathing - he has never known failure, and never experienced anything other than perfection. He is close to a "perfect existence", but even if he can not realize it yet, there is one important thing missing from his psychè that would allow him to become the perfect ruler the world needs.

Initially believing the rumored, sixth Fuyuki Holy Grail to be potentially dangerous to humanity, Leo participates in the war with the intent to secure it. Once it was discovered that the Holy Grail existence is tainted and several variables had not even been confirmed, Leo rightfully became concerned for the safety of his subjects and his kingdom. In short, he feels obligated as a king to participate in the Sixth Heaven's Feel in order to minimize casualties and further spread the firmly established but newly surfaced "Harwey Plutocracy", to Japan.

Understandably confident in his abilities and his path to victory, he openly refers to his Saber-class Servant by his true name and does not make him hide his form around others for the sake of camouflage or cowardice. In his estimation, a true king does not concern himself with subtlety or subterfuge tactics. Alternatively, he is instead content to allow something destined to be revealed happen without question. After all, victory is all but assured to him, as his natural superiority over others has been reinforced every day since he was born.

As a king should, he naturally seems superior to those around him, as if he is properly looking down upon them from his place on the king's throne. But as stated above - he is more like an aspiring prince with every chance of success than an established king. Appropriately - as a prince of the world - he has a natural charisma that draws even the people "below him" up to his level. He can not look at others as threats or equals, but does - aside from himself, at least, see all of his subjects as equal. His smile brings about the same sort of feeling as a warm and comforting sun rise, and his presence is inviting and inclusive. Any worries others have vanish, and people begin to think of doing as he wills, as if it is the only way to do things.

History: Born four years before the occurrence of the Fourth Fuyuki Grail War, Leonardo Harwey was actually the second of two sons born by his mother, Marianne Antoinette Harwey. However, the Harwey Family is far from ordinary, and long ago had to develop their own thaumaturgy to produce a magical "analysis" printout of each newborn family member's potential. Simply put, Leo's older brother had not been born with enough Magic Circuits for the Head of the family to sanctify passing on the family crest to the firstborn.

The family head - Leo and Julius' grandfather - believed that another off-spring would produce a more "capable" heir, and the second child won the genetic lottery. Just like that, Leo surpassed Julius as the Harwey family's heir despite being younger. Unlike certain families, however, Julius never begrudged the child Leo his position as the new family heir.

Leo was raised from birth - groomed daily, to become king of the world. The Harwey Plutocracy has over the centuries amassed and found ways to maintain such vast power, that they owned sixty percent of the "real world", in some way, shape, or form. Further, while branch families and non-heirs expanded the Harwey Plutocracy's influence around the human world all that time, heirs and off-spring cemented a place within practically every magical organization and school of thought. And during these generations, as the Harwey family sunk its tendrils and roots deeper and deeper within both worlds, the Sorcery Trait of the Harwey clan grew more and more powerful. Essentially, it guaranteed every bit of knowledge known to the Harwey family - in regards to both heirs and non-heirs - could be passed down to each generations single Harwey heir.

Over these many generations, the Harwey family had spent their time amassing a plethora of wealth, information, and resources. But from the beginning, the name of the Harwey Sorcery Trait is enough to confirm that they have always held high ambitions; the name of their trait is "Imperial Birthright". This name not only accurately describes the mentality of the Harwey clan as rulers who want to oversee the world, but also describes Leo's legacy and his individual personality. He has inherited not only the Sorcery Trait itself, but all that comes with it. Specifically, he also now shoulders the weight of the Harwey clan's destiny to govern the world.

During childhood, Leo did not need to study or learn things he already knew - which was a very considerable amount, given the nature of the Harwey family Sorcery Trait. Even before the crest - and all of the knowledge within - were transplanted, the latter made possible by the nature of the Sorcery Trait itself and a touch of magical surgery, Leo was a studious youth who would pour over books for his own personal enjoyment as well as learning. But at age five, the crest was fully transplanted onto young Leo, and the Sorcery Trait allowed for all the stored knowledge and experience - not just spells of the family - to be stored in his mind as well. He grew up with the intent of adding to his massive archive of thaumaturgical theory and magical knowhow he had inherited by learning things he didn't know, as the family heirs had done for generations.

Leo has every intention to win the Sixth Heaven's Feel and secure the omnipotent wish-granting device for the Harwey Plutocracy. He would sooner not harm those he considers his subjects (that is, everyone in the world), but he does consider himself a shepherd, after all. As such, he trusts in himself to know what is best for the flock. Wolves in sheep clothing will be exterminated, and he does not blame the sheep themselves if they do not understand what he knows is best for them. It is his desire to protect his kingdom, and his people - will the strength and conviction necessary to be king, Leo has called forth a mighty Servant - a knight, suitable only to a true king.

Backed by his brother Julius, enormous political and financial capital, and innumerable resources, Leo Harwey moves forward into the battlefield to launch the Harwey Plutocracy's campaign in the Japanese theater, and hopefully expand their reach and power even deeper into the Asiatic countries of this world than they already have.

"Master Leo," Came the familiar voice of the Harwey heir's chief butler, Sebastian Reginald Churchill Canterbury the Third. "Your private chopper is ready, sir."

The butler's rehearsed but sincerely cultured mannerisms prompted a kind smile from the fair-haired boy in the dark red, leather chair. Leo Harwey was only sixteen, but he ran through finance reports and business transactions like a CEO, since - after all, he had the knowledge of numerous CEOs of various companies within his own mind. It was only natural for him to continue the Harwey family's success, and that included financial capital and stock-market trading, even seeking bonds and organizing assets as the Harwey Plutocracy slowly emerged from the shadows as a legitimate form of world government. Leo was not like most boys his age, and he did not engage in "play" because that had never been an options. He had always been given more important things to do.

"Very good, Mister Canterbury. Thank you for letting me know." Leo flashed him his sincere, princely smile and dismissed the elderly man with that verbal show of gratitude.

As the butler bowed low and placed arm across his midriff in a gesture of respect, he backed out of the room gracefully. Leo rose to his feet, fluidly walking across the room to the radio he had been listening to. A rather Machiavellian piece of Bach classical had been playing quietly as Leo pondered the latest quarterly earnings report from "Murphy-Anderson Petroleum Products", only one of hundreds of satellite corporations fully owned and discreetly operated by the Harwey family. As expected, profits had reached record numbers, and Leo was in a good mood. He had personally called the company to congratulate them and encourage more hiring and expansion.

Leo's gloved fingers turned the knob so that the radio clicked "off", and he regarded the Victorian decor within this estate's lavish study. Bookcases lined the walls, and everything from the red recliner to a work desk could be found in this room. Whenever Leo visited this particular house, he could almost always be found in this room, pouring over public radio or listening to classical music whilst perusing the latest reports from Harwey's innumerable companies.

Today, though, was a special occasion. He had entertained himself by reading about Murphy's latest earnings, but today was about much more than just one proxy business's success. The reports had come in earlier that week, and all evidence indicated that an anomaly had arisen within the system. If there really was no Holy Grail, then one might think Leo's entire planned trip to Fuyuki would be cancelled. Au contraire, Leo's sense of duty as the future king of the world tugged at his soul more than ever - he would personally step into these so-called "Magus Wars", and personally put a stop to any potential disruptions or terroristic actions taken by rogue magi. The young prince straightened his maroon suit-jacket, and turned to regard yet another new presence in the room.

"Ah, Sir Gawain!" He chimed, pleased to see his Servant standing there in that pristine armor of his.

"Are you ready to go? Julius should already be arriving in Japan, so we can not wait too long, you understand."

The blonde-haired Servant gave a stiff nod, but allowed his thoughts to be heard aloud.

"I am ready, Master. Although, I am a little uncertain about that bladed-machine's capabilities to carry us across a sea and a continent."

Leo could only smile at his Servant, bemused by this uncharacteristic relaying of his actual feelings on a matter so trivial.

"Rest easy, Saber. I am quite confident in your abilities to pilot even our sophisticated transport chopper, should the need arise~"

And with that baffling statement, Master and Servant left the study and headed for the roof.
